Family Fun

As many of you well know we as a Beaman Clan got together and participated in our own Triathlon.  It was a LOT of fun.  We all accomplished something and finished it with our teammate.  We rode our bikes to the YMCA and that is where we started our 500 yd swim.  Biked from YMCA to Kingwood Drive to Mills Branch Road and then to Gille home.  Then we began our run. I wasnt able to run because of doctors orders, only low impact activities so they kindly allowed me to wear roller blades.
Before the race began

Waiting at the light

Garret obviously killed us all. I told him he better find a wife who can compete because thats my expectation :)  It wasnt about winning or losing but having fun and being together as a family.  Thanks fam for a fun filled day!

Here is a video of each couple finishing.

Garret finished at the start so we didnt have an actual legit finish for him. He basically went half way running on the run and walked the rest he was that far ahead.

Garret left us on monday :( so the night before tyson and taylor left we all went to red robin and dave & busters. So FUN. Blake and Ashley came with Taylor and Riley.  It was actually Riley's 4th birthday!

Tis the Season

First off, I LOVE this time of the year.  The lights, the decorations, the music, the weather and most of all the giving of presents.  I am so blessed to be surrounded by great family and friends.

I started my long term sub job at Creekwood Middle School.  I am coaching 7th grade basketball and then have 6th grade PE. I have been in it for the past week and I LOVE it.  We have already played 2 games and we won both of them! yahoo! I am so proud of the girls. Itll be great to see their growth over the season. Truly there is nothing more rewarding than seeing kids in my job succeed and accomplish things they never thought possible.

I cant wait to see my family over Christmas break.  We are going to have so much fun! I am almost done desgnin the Tri-hard shirts.  So fun!

I will be using the font of the names on the left

the screamin' beamans reunite will be all one size font. on the sleeve

Felt inclined to share this quote. Gave me warmth. It is by Dieter F Uchtdorf

"The things we hope in sustain us during our daily walk. They uphold us through trials, temptations, and sorrow. Everyone has experienced discouragement and difficulty. Indeed, there are times when the darkness may seem unbearable. It is in these times that the divine principles of the restored gospel we hope in can uphold us and carry us until, once again, we walk in the light.

"We hope in Jesus the Christ, in the goodness of God, in the manifestations of the Holy Spirit, in the knowledge that prayers are heard and answered. Because God has been faithful and kept His promises in the past, we can hope with confidence that God will keep His promises to us in the present and in the future. In times of distress, we can hold tightly to the hope that things will 'work together for [our] good' (D&C 90:24) as we follow the counsel of God's prophets. This type of hope in God, His goodness, and His power refreshes us with courage during difficult challenges and gives strength to those who feel threatened by enclosing walls of fear, doubt, and despair."

Randyman turns 56!

Happy Birthday Daddio!

It was Randyman's 56th birthday on Saturday.  So we wanted to do something nice for him and I got a giftcard from my older brother Jake when I went and watched his kids to Ruth's Chris.  For those who have never heard of this place it is a nice steakhouse in Houston. Very pricey, but probably the best filet I have EVER had.

Revanator and I like to do themed cakes for birthdays so we decided to do turtle cake since my dad loves his turtles.  I made red velvet cake and cream cheese frosting and when my mom got home from work we both decorated each our own turtle.  It was a fun weekend!

Quarter Life Crisis & A Hand in Homemaking

So for those of you who dont have a facebook. A week ago I decided I needed a change with my hair.  I didnt wanna loose my blondness so my only option was really to cut it different.  So I chopped it all off. Got to donate it to locks of love. So was a very good thing :) Matt likes the new do too.

look more like her?

Also I was very busy this week making cupcakes for the YW in Excellence Program this week. I made 106 chocolate cupcakes! And I had to frost them all fancy like....I was tutored by ruth carruth before, she is a cupcake master. Thanks Ruth!
Grandma was an excellent sprinkler
I had different covers per table of all the YW colors
This weekend is my dads birthday. So there will be more posts to come :)

Round Up Halloween

Every year our ward does a trunk or treat. Last year we had max and sophie dress up like a stuffed animal and we stuffed a bunch of my old stuffed animals in my trunk and had the kids try to find the real animal. Sophie and Max were the greatest. They just nicely sat there.  To go along with my trunk I made puppy chow. Which some kids denied because they wanted candy....or they thought was real puppy chow. lol I dont know. That year Matt and my dad dressed up as witches and my mom and I dressed up as vampires.

So this year I had people asking me what I was going to come up with this year with my doggies.  I had to think of something with two more added to the mix.  Then my parents were going out of town so I would have their two as well. Count em 6 shih tzus!

I went on a walk with my doggies to try to come up with something creative.  I usually go out on a walk when I need time to think. I wanted something cheap, something we could use around the house.  And then it hit me! Matt and I should be Cowboy and Cowgirl and the doggies will be our herd of cattle. But how was I going to make them look like cows? Then it hit me. Buy white toddler shirts and paint black spots on them. We used a play pen and gated them up. Brought my dads truck and even made treats to go along with it. Cow patties :) we told the kids we spent weeks collecting enough.
Just call me Pablo Picasso :)
They werent real cowpatties people! I am not that sick and twisted.  They were no bake cookies that looked like a mound of mess :)  I was only denied a few times of my treat.  The kids loved it.  I had many people ask "are you here selling these dogs" my reply "NO"  or they would ask "are all of these dogs yours?" once again "NO"

Cow patties

Here we are in the parking lot of the church. Letting kids feed the cattle (carrots). We had fun.

Growing Garden & BE A MAN Tri-Hard Training

So a few weeks ago I planted some starters and some seeds. I am already seeing growth! This is so exciting!
Because so much is growing I decided to do basil and cilantro as well. Just planted so we shall see!

Do you see the tomatoe growing???

Now down to business. I was in the car with my mom yesterday and we were talking about what we could do when all the family comes into town for christmas.  I have always said I want to do a triathalon but too expensive and the main thing I think is cool is the shirt.  So I said, "lets do a family triathalon. Make a course. Make shirts. Make it a Beaman competition!

So I have a rough draft of the shirt I want to design. Its not set in stone but I am liking it more and more :) The course is not set up completly so the amounts of each is an estimate. The bike ride may be altered a little.  The teams are as follows:

Randy and Reva
Blake and Garret
Rachele and Scott
Tyson and Taylor
Matt and Hollie (me)

For those of you who know the Beaman's we are a pretty competitive bunch so this will be fun. Rachele and Scott are marathon/triathalon fanatics, so we have our work cut out for us to keep up. The race will start with our swim at the ymca. Then we hope onto our bikes on our ride into Kingwood. We will drop off our bikes at Gille residence and begin our run! This is gonna be a blast!

Let the training begin!

Green Thumb

So this past weekend we completed our garden.  Matt built it last weekend but I had to order dirt and what not. I planted broccoli, tomatoes, spinach, carrots, bell peppers. We shall see how it goes with the growing of these yummy treats :)

The doctor has me on a low glycemic diet to try to treat my PCOS (poly cystic ovarian syndrome).  I must admit this new way of eating is really difficult but the end result is whats worth it.  I am hoping the fertility specialist can figure out what is going on with my body, so matt and I can be blessed with a family.  Until then I have to keep up the hope and take care of my husband, doggies, home and garden.

I have just been subbing lately, a few times a week.  I have a long term sub job next month at creekwood middle school.  It is right at the start of basketball season so I get to coach 7th grade basketball (with one of my teammates back in the day) and teach PE to 6th graders.  Couldn't be more ideal.

Matt has been working at Malone and Bailey still.  He is about finished with an online class and then off to studying for the CPA.  He isn't a fan of his job but he does it anyways.  I appreciate his willingness to provide for our family. He is a great husband and will one day be an awesome dad.

I thought this was funny one of max. We were workin our butts off and he was just reeellllaaxxxin..typical
