Blessing Dress

Mom and I did a photo shoot with Gracie's blessing dress.  She looks like a little doll. So cute.  My mom has a freind who has a picture with each of her kids in their blessing dress and she is dressed in all white and sitting in a white rocking chair.  We did our best to re-create the picture.

Straight from Heaven :)

Now we are not professionals but we did our best. I think they turned out great.  I weighed Gracie today and if the scale is correct by subtracting my weight with her and my weight without her then she weighs 8.8lbs.  Not to shabby.  Still my little munchkin.  She isn't plumping out but I can tell she is getting longer.  I think she will have a long torso like her dad.

Newborn Photoshoot

Pictures done by the very talented Rachel "Spears" Taylor

Gracie made a little accident on her daddy :)

I think they turned out great! There is not a bad picture!  Rachel doesn't typically do newborn photo shoots but she made an exception for Gracie.  I think she did great!  Thank you so much Rachel! I cant wait for you to move down to Texas!

Gettin' the Swing of Things!

From the sound of my last post there may be some concerned people wondering just how my feeders are holdin up.  Well I am happy to report things in that vacinity are much better.  Both Gracie and I needed to "get more aquanted" with each others needs.  HAHA
Overall I am feeling more human. I have run some errands with her and got out of the house. That is key with me. I was going crazy being cuped up in the house all day. Now the weather needs to cool off and we can really enjoy one another.

This past week Garret came to visit and meet his niece. I think he liked her :)

Its been so flippin' hott down here in Texas that I havnt been able to go out for walks like I want to.  One benefit of breastfeeding is I am back down to my pre pregnant weight.  She is takin all the food I guess.  Dr said physiologically C section patients  have 90 days to get back into shape like they were before. So I am makin a game plan.

At Gracie's 2 week check up she weighed 7lbs & 5oz! They want her at her birth weight by this time, but she was above and beyond.  She grows day by day.  She is startin to get chubby....very yummy!

Sunday morning her umbilical cord completly fell off

full tummy!
We even went to sacrament meeting at church!

being reverent!

Then we went to dinner at my parents and Blake and his family

Week Gone By & Back Track

My baby Gracie is a week old today!  I am not gonna sugar coat it and say its been all a meadow of flowers.

My feeders are sore.  Stinkin sore.  Sorer then I ever imagined they could be.  Also, they have a mind of their own.  How come when you get pregnant everyone always talks about the labor and delivery, but never the after effect on your feeders?  Holy Cow.  Surgery wasn't bad.  Get past day 3 and feel way better.  Day 7 I am going for my normal walk with Gracie and Matt and the Dogs.  BUT the feeders are my chief complaint.

Our walk this morning.

Isnt she yummy?

My days lately consist of being the cow for Gracie.  In between feedings I try to do some house work and relax a little.  I am sure I will get on a schedule with her that will work and be more productive.  I don't let her sleep over 3 hours during the day.  When I let her go 4 she is up after her feedings for an hour at night. No Bueno.  Now that I keep her on a stricter schedule during the day she is getting very consistent on just waking up naturally. Its like she has her own personal alarm clock in there.  Now if we can get her to sleep for a solid 4 hours at night that would be great.  The pediatrician said no more than 4 hours in between feedings.  Trying to follow his counsel.

We went to the pediatrician on Tuesday. Dr Leach said everything looked great.  No issues with jaundice and she even gained a little weight.  I think Gracie is going to be a future Oreo/Pint of Ice Cream/Food Competition winner like her Momma.  I am so proud.  She is a chugger.  One cute thing about her that kinda is sad but cute all at the same time is that she gets the hiccups almost after every feeding.  Its crazy.  She also smiles when she is in her milk drunken

Another cute thing she does is she pants....yes pants. Like a puppy dog. AH! so cute. My little puppy baby.

Now time to back track

Before Gracie arrived there was a lot of waiting.  Matt and I showed up first and then shortly after my parents.  We decided to take some pictures to lighten the mood and get my jitters out.

He put his surgery clothing on right away...Ready Ready!
Hmmm...totally Matt's idea.......
Then some cutting and what not happened....little this, little that. BIG PRESSURE and TADAAAHHH I am a mother of a beautiful baby girl!

What a Day
In the delivery room Matt and My Mom were able to come in while My Dad waited outside due to his track record of near-pass-outs. She was breech because her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck and it was a small cord as well.  There was no way but a c section to deliver her safely. Immediately after she was born both Matt and I were able to see her briefly. After which Matt and My Mom followed her back to get her measurements and a thorough exam.

Dr. playing with Baby

While the others were busy having fun with Gracie Girl I was being sewn back together.  Once Gracie was ready to go they brought her right to me to start feeding time.  Gracie came out already sucking her thumb so it wasn't hard to get her to latch on.  Very Very strong sucker.  Its gonna be a long couple of weeks till I toughen up.  I am so content right now. I just cant stop staring at my little baby girl.  I am the luckiest Mom in the world.
